An unforgettable toast, makes a reception
Ok – I love stories like this, and I hope the video guy got good audio on this….

So Scott’s dad is giving the toast, and he starts slowing down – saying “I was thinking I would try and find one word that would best describe my son.”
So naturally everyone is one the edge of their seat, as he’s really taking a while – like he’s lost his idea – but then he spits it out: GRAND. Ok, so why draw it out….then he follows up with “I’ve always thought of my son as a graaaand son.” and with that I’d like to present the new couple with this gift; and he pulls out a wrapped box. Beth and Scott unwrap it facing them…and everyone wants to know what was in the box….

And so Scott & Beth are cajoled by the audience into showing the gift to everyone

So amid rolling guffaws, cheers and jeers – dad brings his point home!

Since you’re probably wanting to see more from their reception here’s the quick overview:

Now, I don’t generally try to focus completely on the bride and groom, when I get a free moment I like to try and do character portraits of all the guests I can.

And family moments are important and interesting aspects of the reception as well.

One last gentle portrait of the couple kissing in Hershey (ouch I know, but it’s too tempting), but I really want to point out how much Beth’s wisps accentuated her face throughout the day as you can see in the earlier images too.

Enjoy each day like this one, and life will be sweet and seem short.
Creative Blessings!

I really like the first shot of this series. but the other 3 following it are also pretty good. the bride looks so uncomfortable/embarrassed – thats pretty funny.
thanks for posting on my blog.
- the answer to your question – the material of those sculptures is plaster – they also have a functioning element by catching wind and circulating cold air throughout the building – an ancient form air conditioning in a way.

Hilarious! Reminds me of when I gave report on M/F reproductive systems to my health class in high school. Holding up a similar looking poster, I could barely get a word in through the class’s nervous laughter.

So…
I have been stalking your website since July.. and I fondly tell stories about the two of you as if I knew you.. you are reffered to as: “The Wedding Photographer gods!”
..and; pretty much YOU ARE!
I am eventually going to be as good as you two.. and even bring the personality along on shoots. For now I am trudging on teaching myself what I can and saving to go back to school. I am also beginning an internship with a local photographer this spring… *YAY*
So you may not know me.. BUT I LOVE YOU GUYS.. you give me a high standard to aspire to, and I adore that. Your work makes me laugh… AND cry.
Keep up the living life to its fullest and capturing it all in the art of your craft.. it makes many people terribly happy. SO GOOD FOR YOU!
All my love, your biggest fan in Oregon,
Rachael Mizelle
