Why I’m a wedding photographer | finding spaces and places

Why I’m a wedding photographer | finding spaces and places

question I often hear from brides is ” Have you ever been to the ________ before” and while I’ve photographed over 250 weddings in a 10 year career as of this writing; my career has evolved to a wildly decentralized clientele. And I like that, I appreciate that, and I rise to the challenge of exploring new locations every time I go out to shoot. I explain how my internal psyche and temperament make it good for me, but let me expound on a few of the tricks where the video left off with this image:

What a relationship looks like: grandparents

What a relationship looks like: grandparents

What does a relationship look like? It’s a theme we blog about as we observe love being made real in the ceremonies and events that we photograph.  Today’s theme is about grandparents. And hugs. Why am I made to be a good wedding photographer?
A few of the answers might be endurance, for working 12+ hour days: Drive, to find unique moments every time – deal with new environments each wedding – and zest to grab life by the horns and ride. Most people like a steady job, with usual, predictable tasks – unfortunately I’m not made like that….or fortunately for you, I’ve found my niche and calling to marry the low attention span with high levels of challenge in a job that forces me to be my best – every time. It’s wild fun and I love that I’m perfectly made for it!
