The British photographer’s association awards Neil’s image in the contemporary wedding category of their March contest.
As I am headed to Scotland for a wedding in the last days of May and teaching a photography workshop the first day’s of June in the UK, I thought I’d join their association. And they hold a monthly image competition so I look forward to another way to keep my eyes sharp among the best photographers in England.

The final image competition from 2007 hosted by the WPJA awarded Neil’s engagement portrait of Deanna and William an eleventh place finish. You can browse the contest winning images on the WPJA site. Neil’s first post on their engagement shoot is here, and their book will be featured soon.
You can see them featured in the rotating header files also, so thanks guys for getting to the shoot before the sun rose!

And the judges awarded us a 9th place in the Engagement Portrait Category. Sorry I didn’t do better guys, you’re always first place with me! What do you think of the shot? They were a little disgusted by the pumpkin guts
I guess this is as good a time as any to introduce my thought process and Photoshop technique for all the photographers, and amaters reading.

I’m sorry if I’m now hazy on who’s grandfather this was but and image from Jake and Tini’s wedding of a child hugging her (I believe great-grandfather) recieved a 3rd place award from the WPJA.
