How do you let a photographer into your life for a day? Can they capture the reality of your life? I feel like I am the type of person who can blend into any situation without causing too many ripples in the water. Kids appreciate that, I think. I shot this set of family lifestyle images in Mooresville, NC which is right by Lake Norman. A really beautiful area!

Here is the first thing I saw in the morning, such a peaceful scene. The boys play until Mel, their mother, gets their breakfast ready.

A quick high five and joke about my crazy name, I hop on the floor and they let me in their lives. Kids are amazing.

This is Mia. Out of nowhere, a screaming laugh! It lasts just a moment, and then she is right back to focused role play!

She takes good care of Elmo!

I asked Mel & Andy, the parents, what is precious about their children. Each of their children are so unique! They wanted shots of the boys entranced with their vehicles. What is it about boys and cars? It is so precious!

Andy works from home, and he takes a nice break at lunch time to tire the kids out before their nap time!
